GENERAL ATTENDANCE CONDITIONS
If You use a ticket which was purchased from SIX Tickets at Hampton Court Palace (whether you purchased it yourself or someone else did) to gain entry to a Performance you are an Attender. As an Attender, you accept that Your use of the ticket is governed by the General Attendance Conditions below and the Performance Conditions for the applicable Performance which can be viewed here: Performance Conditions.
The Venue Operator is the entity which controls access to and use of the venue at which the Performance takes place.
1. VENUE OPERATOR’S RIGHTS
1.1 The exercise by the Venue Operator of any of the rights listed here will not create a right to a refund of any part of the purchaser’s purchase.
1.2 The Venue Operator is entitled to reserve the right, which it may exercise in its sole discretion, to refuse admission to and/or remove any person:
- in reasonable circumstances including for health, safety and licensing reasons or where a ticket is void;
- displaying aggressive, violent or unreasonable behaviour;
- making use of a ticket sold on the basis of a specific Access need if the Venue Operator reasonably believes that the need declared is not genuine;
- who makes unauthorised sound or visual recordings;
- seeking re-admission after leaving during the performance;
- who breaches any of the Restrictions and Prohibitions listed below; or
- who is not in the reasonable opinion of the Venue Operator a Permitted Attender.
1.3 The Venue Operator is entitled to reserve the right, which it may exercise in its sole discretion, to require:
- persons in the building to follow reasonable instructions and announcements;
- proof of age to be shown prior to serving any alcohol;
- parents or supervisors to remove children who, in the reasonable opinion of the venue, are disturbing other audience members;
- that persons attending cooperate with reasonable searches of clothing, bags and other items on entry and exit of the venue for the purpose of protecting all customers and staff;
1.4 The Venue Operator is entitled to reserve the right, which it may exercise in its sole discretion, to:
- restrict admission of latecomers to a suitable break in the performance to protect the enjoyment of others;
- refuse to serve alcohol to any customer that appears to be intoxicated or likely to become intoxicated;
- operate CCTV for the purpose of crime prevention and public safety in accordance with the venue’s privacy policy;
- make or authorise the making of still picture, film or sound recordings of attenders as members of the audience; and
- set reasonable terms and conditions of attendance specific to the Performance for public health and other reasons before or after tickets are purchased.
2. RESTRICTIONS & PROHIBITIONS
2.1 Attenders are forbidden to:
- use equipment for recording or transmitting (by digital or other means) any audio, visual or audio-visual material or any information or data inside the venue;
- smoke tobacco products or e-cigarettes;
- bring into the theatre for consumption their own food and drink;
- use mobile phones, tablets, messaging equipment or any electronic equipment or any equipment which emits sound or light during the performance;
- obstruct gangways, access-ways, exits, entrances or staircases, congregates in non-designated areas seeks to occupy an area or seats for which they do not hold a Ticket;
- bring into the venue or display or distribute (whether for free or not) at the event any sponsorship, promotional or marketing materials;
- bring any items into the theatre which are illegal or are deemed by the venue operator (at their sole discretion) to pose a health and safety risk, affect the enjoyment of others, cause disruption to the performance or cause damage to property;
- consume alcohol other than in designated areas where it is authorised;
- bring in animals (with the exception of assistance dogs at ease in a performance environment);
- bring in laser pens, fireworks, flares, smoke bombs or hazardous materials; and
- bring in illegal substances.
1.3 In addition to the Venue Operator’s other rights:
- any recording made of an Event in breach of these conditions shall belong to the producer of the event;
- unauthorised recordings, tapes, films or similar items may be confiscated and destroyed or deleted; and
- Venue Operator will not be liable for any loss, theft or damage to confiscated items.
3. ATTENDERS
3.1 To be an Attender for a Performance a person must have a specific ticket allocated to them and only them. This applies to all adults, children and, where permitted to attend, babes in arms.
3.2 For each event a minimum Age Recommendation and other information about suitability is provided in the Performance Conditions. The Age Recommendation and any other information provided about the performance are not guarantees of suitability for any person. It is the responsibility of the purchaser to establish its suitability for Attenders to whom they allocate tickets purchased and any failure to do so before or after purchase shall not create a right to a refund. By bringing a child below the Age Recommendation to a performance, an adult Attender declares that they know the child to be comfortable in a theatre environment for the type and length of performance presented and that they are responsible for the experience and behaviour of the child.
3.3 If a group of Attenders includes one or more children under the age of 16, children must be directly supervised at all times in the venue by an adult Attender over the age of 18 and there must be a minimum of one adult for every ten children.
3.4 Unless specifically permitted in the Performance Conditions, babies and children under 4 years of age may not be Attenders.
3.5 Attenders meeting these conditions are Permitted Attenders.
4. LIABILITY OF VENUE OPERATOR
4.1 The Venue Operator does not accept responsibility for the loss or damage of any personal property or for any liability (to the fullest extent permitted by law).
